Celebrating! The Café Sucré Farine’s One Year Anniversary!

One year ago today …………..
The Café Sucré Farine took it’s maiden voyage! It’s funny now to look back and understand how very “green” and unknowing I was. I’ve enjoyed cooking and all things food-related for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never been super technologically savvy. I honestly, didn’t know a url from an html or a feed from a link when this adventure all began.  But, by the good grace of God, a supportive family and the book Blogging for Dummies, we (my photographer, dearest friend, cohort in crime – aka husband) fumbled our way through the first days, weeks and months ……….. and here we are, still standing one year later!

There’s still so much to learn, but wow, it’s been a fun and exciting journey! I never dreamt that we’d have visitors from all over the globe – almost 200,000 as I write, that we’d be averaging right around 2,000 visitors a day with countless others receiving The Café in their daily emails and feeds! During those early days, I was thrilled to have twenty or thirty friends visiting and would have told you to check in to the local mental institution had you told me what the stats would be at our one year mark!

It’s also been so fun and stretching at the same time as my brain has exploded with a plethora of new knowledge…….. I’ve explored beau coups of new culinary avenues …………. but the best part, for sure, has been the new friends I’ve made! I feel like I have cohorts and foodie comrades in all corners of the world………… who would have ever thought?

Instead of posting a recipe today, I thought it might be fun for you to spend some time checking out some of the posts from this past year. There’s literally (really) been everything from soup to nuts!

Thank you dear family, friends and followers for your support, encouragement and faithfulness. I so wish you could be here to share a cup of tea and a delicious cookie, a piece or this or a slice of that, but I guess in reality (sadly), it will have to be virtual. Nevertheless, this post is a “hat’s off” to you!

BON APPETIT from The Café!

P.S. I’d love to hear from you, maybe how you came across The Café, a particular recipe or post you especially enjoyed or even types of recipes you’d enjoy seeing more of in the future!

To God Be the Glory!

  • I found your blog because we are in the same SRC group, and I made your apple and avocado salsa as the first thing from your site. I was not dissapointed, but I think you already know that, if you remember 🙂
I am totally in love with your photos, and even though I know your husband is the one behind the camera, I assume you are responsible for the styling.
I am looking forward to following you the next year (and hopefully many to come) – happy anniversary!

  • I have loved seeing your delightful and delicious recipes everytime they come to my email! I guess it was in Harris Teeter that you told me about your blog! 🙂 I especially love getting your quick supper recipes and those amazingly wonderful cookies…I have tried almost all of them! THANKS< CHRIS! Ephesians 3:20

  • I can’t believe it is but only a year since you began. From the Inspirational verses, the joyful photo of you, the sophistcated air of presentation, the fabulous photos, to the creativity of your recipes, it is my fondest moment of my early morning when your blog comes into my post. My husband and homeschooled son love to watch the pings on the globe, and often provides us with a geography lesson. May God richly bless you in turn for continually blessing our household.

  • Congrats to you and your wonderful photographer(your hubby) Like most I look forward to getting your emails everyday. Thank you for sharing. Your site is always refreshing and delicious and most of all I feel like we are reading a great journal to start the recipe and it makes the recipe that more special and delicious . Best wishes

  • Happy Blogaversary! I really don’t know how I found you, only that I’m thrilled that I did. I am enjoying everything from soup to nuts and can’t thank you enough for your dedication. The blogosphere is a much better place with you here. Wishing you many more!

  • A friend had a picture of your Cranberry Avocado salad on her Facebook page, I asked for the recipe, she forwarded the link and I have been an avid fan ever since. I made the Chocolate Truffle cupcakes with Peanut Butter frosting for an Oscar party and they were a huge hit. Your photos make everything look delicious, next time I have a ‘Girls Night In’ I am going to make the Strawberry Balsamic Pizza that sounds amazing. Thanks my making checking e-mails so much fun, I get withdrawals over the weekend so Monday is definitely my favorite post day. Congratulations!!!

  • Congratulations!! However I found your blog it was a blessing!! So many great ideas you are sharing with us, I can cook, bake and so on, but I just cannot create. So I thank you (and your hubby that takes such great pictures) for having the vision to do this. Here’s to another in a line of many more years of happy blogging!

  • Happy Anniversary to The Cafe Sucre Farine!!!! I LOVE your blog, Chris!
