Need some ideas for delicious Thanksgiving sides? We've got you covered! Everything from appetizers, veggies, stuffing and dinner rolls to fabulous desserts!
Happy November! It always funny to me that the minute the word "November" pops up on my calendar, thoughts of Thanksgiving begin to swirl around in my mind and captivate my imagination. I start dreaming about family get togethers, pretty table decorations, pumpkin pie, turkey, gravy and all the delicious Thanksgiving sides: stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberries, mashed potatoes, green bean casseroles, roasted carrots, corn pudding, dinner rolls, and on and on it goes.
This year is especially exciting for Scott and I, as it's the first time in eight years that we get to all be together as a family for Thanksgiving. Our daughter Cait and her family moved to London in the spring of 2010 and, just this past August, relocated back to the States. We were blessed to be able to see them each Christmas, but Thanksgiving always left a little void in our hearts, having this little (big!) family so far away. Cait and Josh are living in Memphis, Tennessee now; not as close as I would like, but definitely way better than having an ocean between us.
We'll be celebrating Thanksgiving at their new home in Memphis this year and we couldn't be more thrilled. Our son Nick and his wife, Lindsay and their children will also be traveling to Memphis, so it will be a particularly thankful Thanksgiving.
I know that it's hard to change traditions - often family members want to endlessly repeat the same cherished recipes for Thanksgiving - forever and ever! But you know what? It's not such a bad thing to switch things up, just one or perhaps two dishes each year. Who knows? Those new recipes might become the cherished choices in the future!
I'm sharing some of our tried and true, all-time favorites, as well as some of the most fantastic recipes I've been drooling over lately online - everything from appetizers to dessert! Are you ready to get your November game plane started with some of the most crazy delicious Thanksgiving sides you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting?

Everything looks divine! I'm all for change up! So glad your family is back in the US~ we just found out yesterday that our daughter can be with us after all, we thought this was going to be the first year we all weren't together and I was having trouble with that...now I am madly planning!!

How wonderful that your family will be together for Thanksgiving this year, Chris! I must make your heart sing. We will just be with one daughter and her boyfriend this year as our other daughter and family will be with her husband's family this year. Luckily we get to see them often as they live only 30 minutes away, for which I am very grateful! What a beautiful array of Thanksgiving sides!!! There would be a revolt if I didn't make certain family favorites but I definitely see a couple of new ideas I'd love to try. Thank you for putting them together.
