Whether you're planning a fun picnic or party for The Memorial Day weekend, or just need some new fun, eats, these Six Summery Recipes to Celebrate the Season should give you a nice little jump-start on a summer of fun in the sun.
It's been a while. You might be wondering if I flew the coop. Or took a long siesta. Maybe you're even imagining that I'm lounging on some tropical island sipping fruity drinks and watching fluffy white clouds float by.
Nope, none of the above. And I have a feeling you'd never guess in a thousand years why I haven't posted this week till now.
My beloved computer and my morning coffee had a little run-in, earlier this week. Yup, just about the whole mug splashed all over the keyboard as my foot caught on the rug under my kitchen table. I yelled "OH NO!!!" and immediately ran for some cloths, but of course, coffee on the keyboard doesn't take long to seep into the computer's "brains". It wasn't a pretty picture when my friend Jeremy, at the Apple store, opened up the machine to take a look.
Thank goodness (and Scott) that we have a reliable back up, but it's been an ordeal getting all that figured out. And an expensive ordeal at that, yikes!
Since I don't have access to my pictures and recipes, and since Memorial Day, the official herald of summer is right around the corner, I thought it would be a great time to share some of our favorite warm weather recipes from the archives. Ready or not, summer, here we come!

Those skewers are speaking to me this morning! With the holiday weekend coming up, I am looking forward to putting something on the grill. Hope the computer issues are getting better. Our kitchen is not going well - always problems, issues, and stumbling blocks.

That is the worst, Chris. So sorry. I know I am jinxing myself but my old reliable laptop has seen better days. I have to tap it when the fan gets too loud. 🙂 Thanks for getting these great summer recipes out and the photo of that cheesecake is amazing.

I went to make your granola this morning, love it by the way, and my pin did not connect. This may be a problem for some and they should be aware the recipes are still there. They will need to find and repin after your computer misadventure.

It has happened to me before!! My cat jumped on the table and moved my red wine...and it's too darn late before I could have done anything.....This is a great selection of summery treats, Chris.

Everyone has a computer disaster story, Chris, and it's never pretty. Mine was a few years ago, It was coffee also. When I took it to the Apple store, they took a picture of its innards to show me how "fried" the mechanics were. As I recall I was pounding my forehead on the Genius Bar when they told me it was over. Expensive, yes. I am so, so sorry. I always recall, however, when I was leaving with my new fancy computer that the salesman/genius desk guy said, "I have two words for you, Mary, Sippy Cup!" I also was glad to see some of these old recipes brought to life. I need some ideas and these will work.
