One year ago today …………..
The Café Sucré Farine took it’s maiden voyage! It’s funny now to look back and understand how very “green” and unknowing I was. I’ve enjoyed cooking and all things food-related for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never been super technologically savvy. I honestly, didn’t know a url from an html or a feed from a link when this adventure all began. But, by the good grace of God, a supportive family and the book Blogging for Dummies, we (my photographer, dearest friend, cohort in crime – aka husband) fumbled our way through the first days, weeks and months ……….. and here we are, still standing one year later!
There’s still so much to learn, but wow, it’s been a fun and exciting journey! I never dreamt that we’d have visitors from all over the globe – almost 200,000 as I write, that we’d be averaging right around 2,000 visitors a day with countless others receiving The Café in their daily emails and feeds! During those early days, I was thrilled to have twenty or thirty friends visiting and would have told you to check in to the local mental institution had you told me what the stats would be at our one year mark!
It’s also been so fun and stretching at the same time as my brain has exploded with a plethora of new knowledge…….. I’ve explored beau coups of new culinary avenues …………. but the best part, for sure, has been the new friends I’ve made! I feel like I have cohorts and foodie comrades in all corners of the world………… who would have ever thought?
Instead of posting a recipe today, I thought it might be fun for you to spend some time checking out some of the posts from this past year. There’s literally (really) been everything from soup to nuts!
Thank you dear family, friends and followers for your support, encouragement and faithfulness. I so wish you could be here to share a cup of tea and a delicious cookie, a piece or this or a slice of that, but I guess in reality (sadly), it will have to be virtual. Nevertheless, this post is a “hat’s off” to you!
