If you've got a busy lifestyle but enjoy healthy, great quality, home cooked meals, try out Terra's Kitchen home food delivery service!
A while back, when I was asked if I'd be interested in doing a review of Terra's Kitchen, I gave it a wholehearted thumbs up.
Why would anyone who loves to cook and spends most days tinkering, testing and tweaking in the kitchen be interested in a home delivery food service?
Well, to be honest, there are quite a few reasons. First of all, I'm not a stranger to Terra's Kitchen. I had the delightful opportunity to try out this farm-to-table, home delivery service last spring. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about meal delivery services, but was pleasantly surprised when my first order arrived. Everything was fresh and the ingredients were high quality. The healthy, chef-designed recipes were easy to follow and ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
The reason you can have delicious meals on the table in less than 30 minutes is because Terra's Kitchen does the majority of the prep work including pre-measuring ingredients and packaging them individually. Meats, poultry and fish are all vacuum packed to ensure freshness. Oh, and every container of food is numbered, so it's easy to determine what's needed for each meal.
I love that I can choose the day I want my meals to arrive and that they come in their own mini refrigerator, which ensures that everything arrives cool and fresh.
If I'm out for the day, there are no worries that my food will have gotten warm or spoiled. These little refrigerators are eco-friendly too, they're reusable up to 100 times!
After transferring the meals to your own refrigerator, you simply place the box at your front door and, like magic, it's whisked away the next day to be used again.
Nutritional information comes with each meal, so it's easy to choose meals for just about any type of diet (vegetarian, paleo, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) with Terra's Kitchen. Scott and I have been working to lose a few pounds, so I really like that each meal is pre-portioned and I know exactly how many calories, carbs, protein, etc. the meal contains. I also know that quality standards are high at Terra’s Kitchen. The ingredients are antibiotic and hormone-free, as well as non-GMO and organic, whenever possible.
As you probably know, if you're a frequent visitor to The Café, we really enjoy eating seasonally. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the meal offerings at Terra's Kitchen change frequently and include a variety of seasonal, ingredients. Check out all the awesome meals they're offering right now!
Each meal comes with a step-by-step recipe card. The cards include beautiful photos, if there's any necessary equipment, staples you might need to add from the pantry and interesting professional tips to make the prep easier and tastier. They even have wine and beer pairing suggestions!
See what I mean? There are so many reasons to like Terra's Kitchen. So, when I was approached again this fall, it was a no-brainer. I just didn't know how timely it would be. September's been a crazy month for Scott and I with a fun get away, a big blog project, remodeling the kitchen, helping our parents move to a new home ... Whew, I'm sure you all have similar stories...
I don't know about you, but when life gets really crazy, we tend to eat out a lot more. That gets expensive and it's often not the healthiest choice. It's been so nice to come home after a busy day and have a delicious, healthy, high quality meal that comes together in less than 30 minutes.
This Greek Pasta Salad was one of the entrées I choose from Terra's Kitchen. I served it with slices of rotisserie chicken, but it would also make a nice meal on it's own. The other two meals I chose were equally delicious, Mediterranean Tacos and Pan Seared Chicken and Crisp Haricots Verts in a Sweet and Sour Bacon Sauce.

I've never experimented with one of these food/recipe delivery services, but I can see how if I were still working crazy hours that this would be a wonderful meal solution. This really is perfect for busy people who want a good meal, but really have limited shopping/cooking time. Fun post -- thanks.
