We're getting ready to celebrate Easter with family, but just wanted to take a minute to send Easter Greetings to our Café family and to share a few photos that exemplify the beauty of the season.
"He is Risen", "He is Risen Indeed" is the way early Christians would greet one another as reminder of the incredible living hope they possessed, because of the resurrection of Christ. Here at The Café, two thousand years later, we love to celebrate Easter, a symbol of the eternal hope and joy that we also have because of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We didn't always have this joy and hope. Both Scott and I grew up knowing about the Christian faith and yet we didn't make it our own until we were in our 20's. We struggled, trying to understand the meaning and purpose of life and went down lots of dead-end paths before Jesus Christ became a reality to us. If you're interested in knowing a bit more about my journey, you can read about it here.
The unfurling of Spring is a beautiful symbol of the life God offers us in Christ. The world transforms from dreary darkness in shades of brown and gray to glorious verdant lushness. Scott took a stroll through the yard this morning with his camera and caught Spring bursting out everywhere he looked. We thought we'd share a few of his shots with you, along with wishes for a blessed Easter!
"In your Easter bonnets, with all the frills upon it......."

Actually, "Christ is risen!"-"Indeed he is risen!" is still the way orthodox christians greet each other on Easter Sunday and the 40 days after it. The orthodox church still carries the teachings and worship of the apostles and the very early church, 2000 years later.
If you have never heard of it (I bet you haven't:) ), this short description of a protestant's first encounter with it might interest you.

Happy Easter Chris! What beautiful photos but ofcourse my favourite is the girls. I'm guessing they had a little help from Grammy with their bonnets given the cute pink cupcake wrappers on them.
