Scrolling through recipes, having search the site for lemon, I can see the number of likes each recipe has and was stunned to see this recipe listed twice with 25&32 likes whilst others has thousands.
This is absolutely the best recipe I’ve ever found online, it’s the reason I found abs frequently return to The Cafe. It’s my claim to fane a serious baking prowess with friends; it’s my go to impressive cake and oft requested by small groups.
I’m surprised there is not more love for it. The recipe is not difficult, though is time consuming. My only two fails are that I’ve not yet discerned a consistent trick for not having the berries sink all the way through and, as we like the frosting more tart than sweet, it’s not set as hard as Chris’ so the drizzle is not quite a pretty.
I’ve been making this recipe a very long time and find it to be an incredible cake.
