Here we go, we're on the road again!

A little different this time though; actually a virtual trip to midwestern United States, where my sweet blogging friend Melanie, (author of Melanie Makes) lives. The Café is guest posting up there today, so that Melanie can take a bit of time off after the recent birth of a brand new addition to her family.

  1. Hi Chris, Would you still have the original recipe? The link leads to a recipe that Melanie has revised. "This recipe was originally posted as a guest post by The Sucre Farine however I have since revised it to make it my own." Thank you in advance!

  2. Hi Chris,

I followed the link to the Melanie Makes post, and she has changed the recipe. Would you mind posting your original recipe? I prefer your pink cookies to her red ones. Are there any differences in the recipe besides the red food gel? Have a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Anna, the recipe and the link for the recipe are on the blog Melanie Makes. I was doing a guest post for her. There's a link to her blog at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!

  3. Hi! I came across the recipe and was wondering at what point and how did you add the sanding sugar? When you scoop and drop the cookies, are they in a round ball, or do you flatten them a bit and then sprinkle the sugar on top? Thanks!

    1. Hi Christine,
Good question. I don't flatten the cookies, just sprinkle the sugar (at pat it very lightly) on top of the scooped dough. They are pretty rounded when they are scooped up with an ice cream scooper.

  4. Chris - these are so gorgeous! Lurve the coloring...heading over to Melanie Makes to check out the recipe!

  5. So pretty and pink! I"m not sure I've ever had a strawberry cookie, but I love strawberries. They look scrumptious!

  6. These are so adorable - what a perfect virtual gift for a new baby girl. They are perfectly pink and pretty and would be terrific for any spring occasions. Heading over now!

  7. These cookies are sooooo pretty Chris....and I imagine so sweet! I showed this post to the people I work with and they all said you should be photographing for magazines! Beautiful pictures. Heading over to take a closer look! : )

  8. Gorgeous, tasty strawberry cookies -- perfect to celebrate Melanie's baby girl!!! I would eat these any time.

  9. You never cease to amaze me! 😉 These are sooo pretty and look delicious! I've got to make these for the teachers at school. Thanks again for another great recipe! Do you think these could be made into bar cookies?

  10. Those look fabulous! I will have to keep my eye out for that powder - I usually end up pulverizing freeze dried strawberries and those are SO spendy. Thanks for sharing!

  11. What a lovely, inviting space you've created here Chris. Just found your sweet blog and can't wait to follow along! How perfect these cookies are for Spring! Heading over to check out the recipe...

  12. One of your best ever Posts, Chris. These cookies not only look delicious but do have a gorgeous pink tint. Leave it to you to do the research to find the “right stuff” to make that happen. This could become a favorite cookie to make as I return to Aspen and another month (or, two) of Winter. You and Scott have put together your talents and turned them into the best retirement passion possible, I think. Finding a passion and running with it is the key to growing older successfully, I believe. What I really envy is Scott’s ability to edit your copy. Every writer needs an editor and that’s what I’m lacking.
