Hi and thanks for the wonderful recipes. I’ve never made chili before but the Chili Con Carne sounds delicious. Can the recipe be adjusted for a crock pot?
Thanks
Hi Liz, since I haven't tried this recipe with a crock pot, to ensure success, it would be better to go with a recipe created for a crock pot, like this one: https://thecafesucrefarine.com/slow-cooker-buffalo-chicken-chili/
I so love reading this blog and discovering the treasure trove of ways to make my food taste better, all secrets that have been unknown to me for these last 76 years or so. As I continue to collect and follow your recipes, I discover I have one nagging question. In all (or at least most) of your recipes, you call for "kosher salt". Now I have discovered that if the Kosher salt being used is from Morton, I need one amount. But if it is from Diamond Crystal, I need double that amount. Or half. Or something. (Proving that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.) Would you be so kind as to let me know which salt you use? Then I'll throw away whatever else I may have and your preference will become my salt of choice as well! Thank you for your delicious recipes so delightfully written up and clearly explained!
Thanks, John, for your kind and encouraging comment. You're right, it does make a difference. In many of our recipes, I add a little note that I use Morton kosher salt. It's the only one that's available in our area so that's my go-to. I will make sure I add that to each recipe. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in this!
