Hi
I really love your recipes - i have tried many and have been very good-thank you! But, lately, there are so many ads on your site it is hard to navigate thru all of them to see the content of the site - is it possible to not have so many?
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones,
Warm regards,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
I understand your frustration. So sorry that this has been a problem for you. I truly wish we could have a website without ads but it’s how we earn our living.
Some websites choose to do sponsored posts as a way of earning income. They work for companies, promoting their products and get paid handsomely for that. I’ve chosen not to do that as I found that companies require you to say all sorts of positive things about their products, often exaggerated or untrue statements. I just felt uncomfortable doing that.
However it’s super expensive to run a website and ads are the way we have chosen to pay these expenses.
Each recipe takes hours of creating, testing, tweaking and re-making before it’s ready to share. Then it sometimes takes 3-4 hours for the photoshoot and that’s not counting editing the pictures and writing the posts. Having a quality website also involves lots of expensive computer and photography equipment which has to frequently be updated.
In order to make the site work, we also have quite a few employees who work for us in different roles and they too need to earn a living. All this to say, it would be impossibly expensive to have a quality website without ads. I dislike watching television because of the ads but I understand that this is the way they’re able to offer quality entertainment.
So you see, this is actually a full-time business for us and, just like television or magazines or newspapers, ads are the way we earn our living and pay for the costs involved. After all the expenses, we don’t earn a ton of money but we love what we do and love to offer our recipes to others for free.
All this being said, there should never be pop-ups that cover the recipe or pop-ups that can’t be x-ed out. If you see something like that, please take a screenshot and send it to me. I will in turn forward it to our ad agency.
Kind Regards,
Chris
