Meet Cait
Hi I'm Cait! I live in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina and am part of the team behind The Café Sucre Farine. Like so many of you, I've been a longtime fan of the recipes and stories that have made this blog such a special corner of the internet. In fact, I might just be the longest-time fan, since Chris (aka mom/grammy) has been cooking for me since I was born! Yep, I'm Scott and Chris's daughter and have been the grateful recipient of her culinary creativity for over 40 years.
Why I'm here...
Since I was a little girl I've always had a passion for creating order, clarity and systems. So naturally as I've begun to step in behind the scenes at The Café my focus has been on organization, updating content, building new systems, and helping guide the blog into its next season.
I have a deep love for efficiency (go ahead and laugh Dad) and feel incredibly grateful to be part of something that brings so much inspiration and beauty into people's homes and kitchens each week. Helping make the blog more helpful, beautiful, and welcoming feels like a natural fit.
What I love...
While I'm not the creative force behind many recipes, I've always been drawn to what food does. I love the way a good meal brings people to the table and keeps them there for a period of time…sometimes short but often times longer. For me personally, I'm less about crafting the perfect dish and more about creating moments (often messy!) of connection, laughter, and shared stories. It's one of the simplest, most powerful ways I know to bring people together, actually see them and create community.
Over the years, our family has called a few places home, including Memphis, Tennessee and London, England. Thankfully, our path eventually led us back to North Carolina and close to all kinds of family which is a gift I do NOT take for granted. My husband Josh and I are currently in the life stage parenting four teenagers (yes, it's as wild as it sounds!). But as chaotic as it can be, this stage of motherhood has honestly been my favorite so far. 'Happy chaos' we call it.
Most importantly, I'm a follower of Jesus. I was raised with two believing parents, and with each passing year, I find myself growing deeper in my faith, in my prayer life and in my relationship with God. That faith shapes every aspect of my life…how I see the world, how I work, how I parent, and how I hope to serve others both on this site and beyond.
As we roll out the next chapter of The Café, our hope is to make the site even more helpful, welcoming, and easy to use while staying true to the warmth, creativity, and heart that have been here from the very beginning. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We're so glad you're here.
