Ridiculously Easy Strawberry Coulis (With Free Printable Labels for Gifts)

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar maybe more
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

To make in the microwave:

  • Combine berries, sugar and lemon juice in a large, microwave-safe bowl. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook on high power for 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and stir again.
  • Repeat the 1 minute in the microwave followed by a good stir 3 more times. The berries should have released a lot of their juice by this time.
  • Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor container and blend for 1 minute on high. Taste and add more sugar and/or lemon juice, if needed.
  • For a super smooth sauce, strain the coulis through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl.
  • Chill for at least 3-4 hours in the refrigerator. (The sauce will get thicker as it cools.) Serve and enjoy!

  • Combine berries, sugar and lemon juice in a medium-large saucepan. Stir well to combine.
  • Heat over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a simmer. Simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently or until the berries have released a lot of their juices.
  • Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor container and blend for 1 minute on high. Taste and add more sugar and/or lemon juice, if needed.
  • For a super smooth sauce, strain the coulis through a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl.
  • Chill for at least 3-4 hours in the refrigerator. (The sauce will get thicker as it cools.) Serve and enjoy!
  • The coulis will last for 3-5 days in the refrigerator and for 6-9 months in the freezer.
