My eyes have always lit up when I've perused a restaurant menu and spotted flatbread, naan or fresh homemade tortillas as am p[topm. There's something so appealing about soft, fluffy flatbread that can be used in a myriad of ways... dipping in delicious sauces and/or oils, rolling around various tasty fillings, or folding over grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, slow-roasted pork or tender beef and topped with vibrant veggies and fresh salsas and sauces. Yum! What's awesome is that over the years, I've discovered fabulous flatbread recipes that I can make at home, any time I want!

Just one little caveat that I must divulge... once you make these homemade flatbreads, you'll have requests for them again and again. And, once you serve them to family and friends, you probably shouldn't bother to buy any kind of flat bread again without experiencing long faces and turned-up noses at the table!
This delicious, pillowy soft Turkish Flatbread is an easy, one-bowl-no-mixer recipe. It's perfect with hummus, tabouli, for wraps and so much more!
Here's how one reader describes this recipe:
I've been using this recipe for years now and it is flawless. Even used it as a woodfired pizza dough in a pinch when there was no time to proof a traditional dough, and it was terrific. It's flavorsome, with an excellent texture and so forgiving. You can leave out the yeast to make yummy wraps or tortillas, or leave out the parsley (which I always do anyway) to make children's sandwiches with basic spreads.
This One-Bowl No-Mixer Homemade Naan is soft, puffy and impossibly delicious! It rivals the naan at your favorite Indian restaurant and you can make it yourself at home with minimal effort!
Here's how one reader describes this recipe:
Okay. I’m a well-seasoned cook (I make everything from scratch and I’m very picky; i.e everything has to turn out perfect). This recipe is PHENOMENAL. I’ve made it more than 10 times already. I make it maybe once every couple of weeks and I quadruple the recipe so I have extra in the freezer for lunches etc. I make the recipe as written with no changes. It’s perfection. Thank you for sharing this recipe with the world!
These really are the best ever Homemade Flour Tortillas, no one can believe how easy and delicious they are! They're perfect for enchiladas, soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas, wraps... Check out the over 650 5-star reviews!
Here's how one reader describes this recipe:
Stunning success with your recipe and method, the very first time in my life I have attempted to make tortillas. And they taste so fresh! No chemical after-taste like the grocery store ones have. I may never purchase tortillas again. Thank you for a great recipe and clear instructions. (I made by hand with a dough whisk, and rolled out with rolling pin.)
Don't be intimidated by these flatbread recipes! Like many other readers, you'll be a pro before you know it!
Thought for the day:
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3
