I don't know about you, but Labor Day snuck up on me this year. I can hardly believe we are at the end of summer! Kids in our area went back to school this week, but it's still very much summer weather. We're looking forward to the upcoming holiday weekend and an extra day off.

These are some of our favorite end-of-summer recipes, perfect for celebrating Labor Day! There's everything from appetizers to desserts. Plus they can be prepped ahead and come together easily. They are great for easy entertaining or to share at a party or potluck. Give them a try and enjoy!

    You responded to my inquiry about baking pound cakes and what temperature to use to ensure they are done and not over done. I have been following (and sharing your tips with others) and have had great success. Thank you.

    My current dilema is one of the cakes I baked Wednesday for our church fundraiser ( will be baking 20 in all) split like one would cut a slice once I took it out of the pan to cool. I have a photo if you would like to see it. Do you have any idea what might cause the cake to do that?
