We've been so wrapped up in recovering from Hurricane Helene that I honestly don't know where October has disappeared to. We're doing okay, but we realize more and more each day that this is going to be a long, long process. The devastation from the flooding and mudslides is still shocking to us.
Most people in the area have power and water although our water is still a little murky and not drinkable. It is nice though, to turn on the faucet and have something come out. It's also nice to flush the toilet without having to carry several gallons of water to the bathroom. So many little things we are thankful for...
Anyway, we almost forgot about Halloween in the midst of all this. But we've got a Halloween party to go to on Thursday which we're looking forward to. Scott and I were surprisingly thinking ahead back in August (unusual for us) when we found the BEST costumes so we're all set for the occasion. They're pretty silly but it will be fun to surprise everyone. We've gotten quite adept at making fools of ourselves over the 49 years we've been married. 😳
